- Operational since 2004, more than 3 million tonnes of CO2 have been stored - The geology of storage formation is similar to formations commonly found in the USA, China and Western Europe, all regions with high CO2 emissions - In Salah operates at a low porosity (13-20%) and low permeability (10mD) - In Salah JIP is funded and resourced primarily by BP, Sonatrach and Statoil. Funding is also received from the US Department of Energy and the EU Directorate of Research, with contributions from global technology providers. |
